Coram Populo Now 2/7 H in Emerald Nightmare!

Coram Populo Now 2/7 H in Emerald Nightmare!

Congratulations to the Coram Populo raid team, which is now 2/7 H in the Emerald Nightmare raid!

Ursoc proved to be quite the angry bear, with bad news to deliver to everyone around him. However, our raid team managed to pull off quite the victory and secured our place and foothold in the next phase of this epic raid. This marks the second victory we have achieved in heroic mode, and we hope to continue this trend as we move forward.

Study Those Heroic Boss Encounters!

Current raid team members should begin studying up on all heroic boss fight encounters in the Emerald Nightmare raid encounter. Before you know it, we will be pushing past the content that you are already well-versed on at current time!

Great Work!

As always, great work, everyone! We look forward to continued progression well into Legion.

Joining Our Raid Team

If you are interested in raiding with us, please join our Discord server, speak with Tehrass (Battletag: Tehrass#1655, TehrassDH@gmail.com), sign up for an OpenRaid account, and review the raid team requirements located on our guild website.

Information about enchants, food, flasks, potions, runes, and other buffs is available on our guild website. Please note that these are not optional and the logs will show if raiders are not properly gearing, using buffs during raid or drinking two potions per fight.

Active raiders should also be looking at OpenRaid (Coram Populo on OpenRaid), Warcraft Logs, WoWProgress, and our raid night replays on Twitch (http://www.twitch.tv/tarcanusfrostbourne).

Raid Night Adjustments (Blizzcon and Holiday Schedules)

Raid Night Adjustments (Blizzcon and Holiday Schedules)

Due to important upcoming events (the Thanksgiving holiday here in the United States and Blizzcon), our raid schedule has been adjusted for November.

Please note that the following schedule changes are effective as of now:

For the week of 10/30/16, our progression raid night will be moved to Tuesday, 11/1/16 and our raid night on Friday, 11/4/16 will be cancelled.

For the week of 11/20/16, our raid night on Friday, 11/25/16 will be cancelled.

Blizzcon

Many of our guild members will be attending Blizzcon during the first week of November and will thus be unable to attend our normal raid night on Friday, 11/4/16. Therefore, we felt it appropriate to move our progression night to Tuesday, 11/1/16 of that week and to cancel any and all raid activities on Friday, 11/4/16.

This will allow us to continue to push forward in Emerald Nightmare (H) that week while we prepare to attend/view this amazing annual convention. This will also allow those with a virtual ticket to completely focus their attention on enjoying Blizzcon on Friday without having to divide their attention between the Blizzcon stream and raiding.

Normal raid events and our normal raid schedule will resume the week after Blizzcon.

Thanksgiving

We also acknowledge that many people will be traveling during the week of Thanksgiving and that raiding on the Friday immediately after Thanksgiving would probably be inconvenient or impossible for many of our raid team members. There is already enough stress on folks who are traveling, cooking, and dealing with family obligations that week and we do not want to burden anyone with any additional work (or run with a team that at half strength due to absences).

Normal raid events and our normal raid schedule will resume the week after Thanksgiving.

Keep in Touch!

We hope that all of you who are attending Blizzcon have an amazing time! Please check out our many officers’ Twitter pages and video blogs on YouTube to see what your fellow guildies and raid team members are up to while out in Anaheim.

Safe Travels and Happy Holidays

Have a safe and wonderful holiday this Thanksgiving and safe travels if you are driving/flying anywhere this year!

Coram Populo Now 1/7 H in Emerald Nightmare!

Coram Populo Now 1/7 H in Emerald Nightmare!

Congratulations to the Coram Populo raid team which is now 1/7 in heroic progression in the Emerald Nightmare raid!

Although Nythendra was a bit pesky on heroic mode, our raid team withstood the challenge and defeated the defiled dragon by the end of our raid night on Friday. Our team continues to grow and improve with each raid, and we could not be more proud of what they have been able to accomplish in the early stages of Legion.

Raiding Plans Current and Future

Our plan for current and future raid nights is as follows:

  1. Tuesdays, we shall continue to farm 7/7 Emerald Nightmare (Normal) in our two-hour raid time.
    1. We have proven with last week’s raid that we are able to defeat the entire raid on normal difficulty within this short amount of time. Moar Xavius, moar loot.
  2. Fridays, we shall continue to push into Emerald Nightmare (Heroic) in our three-hour raid time.
    1. There are always things to work on and improve upon both individually and collectively and new bosses present new challenges as well.

Once we feel as though normal mode will no longer serve us, we shall make the switch to progressing through heroic mode on both raid nights (and thus have five hours to dedicate to heroic progression each week).

Coram Populo Now 7/7 N in Emerald Nightmare!

Coram Populo Now 7/7 N in Emerald Nightmare!

Congratulations to the Coram Populo raid team which is now 7/7 in normal progression in the Emerald Nightmare raid!

Cenarius and Xavius could not withstand the might of our guild members, and we will hopefully have these two bosses on farm fairly soon. Even with an accidental pull on Xavius, the team managed to down the boss on its first attempt. It is great to see that we have over twenty raid team members with us for every raid night/event. The Legion hype and our guild hype is real!

Our plan is to continue working on normal mode encounters until we have defeated Xavius 3-4 times and can successfully clear the entire raid in one two-hour session. At that point, we will begin heroic mode difficulty progression in the Emerald Nightmare.

Great work, everyone! We look forward to continued progression well into Legion.

Guild Meeting Notes: 10/8/2016

Guild Meeting Notes: 10/8/2016

Listed below are the meeting notes from yesterday’s guild meeting. Please note that these are only bullet points and do not encompass the entire discussion or meeting as a whole.

Discord

Discord is our primary means of communication (text and voice).

If you do not use Discord yet, please check it out and join our guild server.

Coram Populo Discord server: http://www.discord.gg/0xgjk4AZ2aFqMA46

Personal Conduct Policies and Guild Rules

As we become highly active within the raiding and role play communities again, we would like to remind everyone to review our personal conduct policies and guild rules.

Please note that these policies and rules apply to communications both in and out of the game itself and on any and all social media and blogs.

Guild Events

General guild events and activities are posted in three areas:

  1. In-Game Guild Calendar
  2. Discord
  3. Guild Website

Guild raids and raid signups are posted on OpenRaid (all prospective raiders need to sign up for an OpenRaid account to be considered for the Coram Populo raid team).

Please note that guild members who wish to participate in all guild events and make the most out of their time in Coram Populo should be actively looking at the in-game calendar and signing up for events, communicating  regularly on Discord, and reading the guild website from time to time.

Active raiders should also be looking at OpenRaid (Coram Populo on OpenRaid), Warcraft Logs, WoWProgress, and our raid night replays on Twitch (http://www.twitch.tv/tarcanusfrostbourne).

Recruitment

We are actively recruiting new members. We are both a role play and raiding guild. If people are interested in joining us, please direct them to our guild website and our Discord server.

We are also looking for self-starters and leaders who possess knowledge and experience with raiding and role play.

Steps to Joining Coram Populo

  1. Review our official guild website, rules, personal conduct policies, social media, and other information to see if we are a guild that seems to fit your interests.
  2. Send us an email (corampopuloguild@gmail.com) or join our Discord server to schedule an recruitment interview.
  3. Participate in the OOC recruitment interview with a guild officer.

We require an OOC voice interview for all prospective applicants. This interview is conducted via our guild Discord server.

We do not require an IC interview or writing sample to join the guild.

If you are unable to speak over Discord or another voice program, please let us know. We will try to accommodate you as best as possible.

The Coram Populo raid team has additional requirements that all members must fulfill before raiding with us.

The raid team has separate interview requirements from our general interview requirements so you may need to participate in two interviews if you are interested in raiding (one interview to join the guild and one interview to be considered for the raid team).

General PvE

PvE Team

We have many resources available for prospective and current raiders in our guild. If you have any questions about PvE activities in Coram Populo, please feel free to contact any of the following people:

PvE Department Head: Tehrass

PvE Senior Officer: Vyctor

PvE Senior Officer: Tarcanus

PvE Officer: Amahraa

PvE Officer: Cocowah

PvE Officer: Rinsland

PvE Officer: Sánguinius

Feedback and Step by Step Increases

Please note that certain requirements (such as DPS minimums, having max food, runes, 30+ potions ect.) for raiding with us will be raised in at a steady, incremental rate as time passes. Notices about requirements for specific raids or weeks will be posted on the signup page (OpenRaid).

Feedback and reminders will be given to raiders who may be missing certain buffs or items in future weeks as these requirements are phased into our raid team. This also applies to DPS requirements as they are phased into our raid team.

Again, this process is meant to be implemented in several stages or steps.

Raiding

We are 5/7 in Emerald Dream (N). We hope to progress past Cenarius and Xavius shortly!

Mythics and Mythic+

Mythic and Mythic+ events are posted on the in-game calendar. Please sign up in advance so that we know what roles and classes we have heading into a given night. Tarcanus currently leads a regular mythic group on Thursday evenings.

We are currently running at least one team during each mythic dungeon night. There are times when we run two teams as personnel allows/demands.

We are currently sitting at Mythic +2 or +3 and we hope to increase that benchmark in the near future.

Looking for Mythics Leaders

If you are interested in leading your own mythic dungeon group, please speak with Tehrass.

Please note that we would love for someone to take up one day a week where no mythic group is currently running mythic dungeons and to start organizing one for the guild. Sundays, Mondays and Wednesdays are currently free each week.

Having other mythic dungeon nights allows for people to run current content with fellow guild members while building camaraderie and team cohesion among our raiders. It is also a great way to experience the game and have a great time with friends.

Role Play

If you missed the first official role play meeting and stream, please visit the video replay on Twitch:

https://www.twitch.tv/tarcanusfrostbourne/v/92524703

Please join the Tarcanus Frostbourne Studios Discord server to network with other role players and to stay involved with all of our streaming and community events:

https://discord.gg/0xgzhz27feI9WD2K

Please note that the Discord server for Tarcanus Frostbourne Studios is DIFFERENT than the Discord server for our guild.

Role play for the guild will be integrated with Tarcanus’ YouTube and Twitch activity. This will allow us to streamline things for everyone and network people to many other groups, guilds, and role players in the World of Warcraft role play community.

Role play for the guild will consist of IC social events and stories and OOC educational workshops and seminars. This will allow us to accomplish both IC and OOC goals for the guild.

Role Play Leads, Storytellers, Dungeon Masters and Moar Wanted!

If you are interested in becoming a role play lead, storyteller or dungeon master, please contact Tarcanus in-game or via the guild email address:

Blizzcon is three weeks away! If any of you are going this year and would like to meet up with your guild officers or guild members, please let us know. We would love to hang out!

Also, if there are any questions or comments you would like us to direct to the developers at one of the many developer panels, we would be happy to do so.

Be sure to check out Tarcanus’ video blogs from Blizzcon as well, which will be posted to his YouTube channel on a daily basis during the convention.

Happy 7th Anniversary!

Coram Populo celebrated it’s seventh year in existence in August. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this magical journey. You are all amazing people and we hope that the next seven years are just as amazing as the first seven have been!
